72 Hours in Lisbon - My First Solo Trip

Day 1: Arrive in Lisbon

This trip marked my first time solo traveling, but I was part of a group tour, which made me a mix of nervous and excited. I didn’t know what to expect, but as soon as I arrived at the hotel, I met some fellow travelers who instantly felt like friends.

After settling in, we decided to kick off our adventure by heading to Belém Tower. Sitting by the water, we shared wine and cheeses while soaking in the golden hour views. It was the perfect way to ease into Lisbon’s charm and start building connections with my newfound travel buddies.

Day 2: Explore Lisbon

Waking up to Lisbon’s vibrant energy, I was ready to dive into its history. Our local guide led us through Alfama’s winding streets, sharing stories that brought the city’s past to life. Every corner had a surprise—colorful tiles, quaint cafés, and sweeping river views.

In the afternoon, a few of us visited Castelo de São Jorge. The views from the castle were breathtaking, but the highlight came later—my first-ever tuk-tuk ride back to the hotel! Zipping through Lisbon’s steep streets was both exhilarating and a little nerve-wracking, but I’ll never forget the laughter and excitement we shared.

That evening, we headed to the LX Factory, a trendy spot filled with unique shops and vibrant restaurants. Dinner was a feast of flavors, and the creative atmosphere of LX Factory was the perfect backdrop for our lively conversations.

Day 3: Sintra & Pena Palace

Our final day took us out of the city and into the dreamy landscapes of Sintra. From the moment I saw the colorful turrets of Pena Palace, I was in awe. Walking through its whimsical halls and gardens felt like stepping into a fairy tale. The views from the palace were absolutely mesmerizing, and I couldn’t help but pinch myself—was this real life? Sintra itself was just as magical, with its enchanting streets and lush surroundings. It was the perfect way to end my Lisbon adventure, leaving me with memories I’ll cherish forever.
